Mfuzo Boxing camp - Grahamstown
The future can be bright through sportsThe plight of children in townships around the country can be grim and sorrowful. Mfuzo Dyira, a professional boxing trainer, was so disturbed by the deterioration of young lives through gangsterism, drugs and alcohol abuse; that he decided to establish Mfuzo boxing camp in 1995.
This centre identifies and develops boxing talent in Grahamstown – Eastern Cape. Children and teenagers (12 – 19 years) are recruited and trained to participate in major boxing tournaments in the town.
Goldrush lends a hand by ensuring that participants have boxing equipment, kits, tracksuits and day-to-day necessities required for the establishment. A truck container was donated for the safe keeping of their belongings as well as for storing their training equipment.
