Madiba Combined School - Mafikeng

Restoring the dignity of our children

The school is home to over 800 pupils who faced the hardship of sharing 5 poorly built pit toilets. Such conditions are not only unhygienic and inconvenient but they put the children at a high risk of developing life-threatening bacterial diseases.

When the plight of this school was brought to the attention of Goldrush, a concerted effort was taken to restore the dignity of these children by building 20 flush toilets; using a local construction company called Sejaphoko Construction. The total cost of this project was R1.4 million.
